Welcome!

On this site you will find original artworks illustrating stories from the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament. Most are in the form of mixed-media collage, with contemporary symbols to hint

at layers of meaning. They are meant to help you see more deeply into each piece of scripture

and consider what it might mean to you personally.

Overall, these are an expression of my own understanding and experience of God. It is not an academic exercise or a theological treatise; it is a poetic and visual interpretation of scripture. Most of the scripture quoted is based on the Berean Standard Bible, as it is an “open translation” (in the public domain, and designed for such adaptation). I have occasionally modified their language to borrow from another translation, or better fit my own interpretation of the original texts. It is all based on my studies, and interpreted through the lens of my belief that God is love.

If you'd like to know my own reflections on each piece, look for my

"Art to Lift Spirits" books to be published this fall on Amazon.com.

Meanwhile, let the scripture and art you see here speak to you, give you ideas, and find your own sense of meaning. Gaze at each piece for a while, and notice what thoughts and feelings it may bring up within you.  Especially, please ponder what the scripture and the art may have to say to you about God, and your relationship with God.

I hope that spending time with these images and ideas will lift your spirits.

I am convinced God’s love is for us ALL,

and hope these images help you believe that, ever more deeply.

Love,

Sue
